Mediobanca makes senior appointment: Philippe Deneux joins as Head of France and Benelux. Further senior hires for the French team will be announced in the coming months
In line with the 2014-2016 three-year industrial plan, which targets significant growth in international Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB) activities (30% - 45% expected increase in wholesale revenues from CIB contribution), Philippe Deneux has been appointed Head of France and Benelux and will also contribute to the development of the global CIB platform. He is based in Paris and reports to Alberto Nagel (CEO of Mediobanca and Co-Head of Corporate and Investment Banking) and Stefano Marsaglia (Executive Chairman and Co-Head of Corporate & Investment Banking).
With a career spanning over twenty five years, Philippe Deneux was most recently a Senior Managing Director of Barclays European Mergers and Acquisitions Group, based in Paris (2009) and London (2012). At Barclays he created and led the team in charge of the strategic dialog with large corporations in France and Benelux. Philippe was responsible for the significant increase in revenues in M&A and Capital Markets and was lead advisor on some of the largest M&A transactions in Europe. Previously, Philippe held similar roles at Credit Suisse and Credit Agricole Indosuez.
Alberto Nagel commented: “Philippe is a talented banker who will contribute materially to growing global revenues in Corporate and Investment Banking and reinforce significantly our footprint in a very important market like France”.
Stefano Marsaglia commented “I am delighted that Philippe joins us in a very senior and key position and I am confident that he will play an important role in the further expansion of our other international activities. I look forward to working with Philippe”.
