We intend to establish ourselves as a market leader in Wealth Management, by leveraging on our history of excellence to offer a distinctive products and services to entrepreneurs, businesses and households. This division, which includes our activities with Premier and Private Banking clients, is a fundamental pillar of our Group.
We launched the Wealth Management in 2016, since when we have established our credentials as a dynamic and distinctive player in the Italian wealth management market. With our 2023-26 Strategic Plan “One Brand-One Culture”, we aim to establish ourselves definitively as a leading Wealth Manager, distinctive for our quality, responsibility, innovation, and the value of the products and service we offer to our Premier and Private Banking clients and to entrepreneurs, through our talented staff, the culture of excellence and exclusiveness which is our hallmark, our responsible approach to banking, and the synergies generated with the Corporate & Investment Banking division.
Our growth in this sector is underpinned by our history: we are a strategic partner for over 1,300 medium-sized enterprises forming part of some of the most dynamic Italian industrial districts, many of which are managed or owned by entrepreneurs and their families, making up the backbone of the Italian capitalistic system.
In recent years we have focused our efforts on structuring the three main branches of our Wealth Management activity:
- We serve our Premier clients through Mediobanca Premier, which came into being in 2024 following the rebranding and repositioning of CheBanca!
- We serve our Private Banking clients through Mediobanca Private Banking and CMB Monaco.
- We also have product factories specializing in the provision of alternative, niche products.
- A Private & Investment Banking model which is unique in Italy: the Wealth Management operates in synergy with our historical investment banking activities, making us indisputably the bank of choice for entrepreneurial families, in Italy especially.
- An established brand: highly recognizable, associated with our founding values of trust, solidity and belonging, which, coupled with our high specialization, is a powerful driver in attracting high-level clients, bankers and Financial Advisors.
- Multichannel offering: 110 branches, more than 100 FAs offices, more than 500 FAs and over 700 bankers, fully integrated with B2B and B2C digital offering instruments
- Transparency and fair pricing, based on a system designed to meet the stringent EU regulations.
Growing our Wealth Management division is the main priority of our 2023-26 Strategic Plan. In view of the characteristics of the Italian savings market, which is one of the largest in Europe and still has relatively low asset management levels, our aim is to leverage the opportunities for growth, establishing ourselves as an operator with characteristics that are unique in Italy:
- Core clients ranging from UHNWIs (Ultra High Net Worth Individuals) to the Premier segment
- Distinctive product offering, both liquid and illiquid
- Dedicated service model, leveraging on an inhouse asset management platform as well as the unique Private & Investment Banking model.
Substantial investments in our salesforce, technologies and products, coupled with the repositioning versus higher bracket clients, will enable us to deliver significant growth, making us comparable to the best asset gatherers in terms of size and profitability.
Wealth Management will be the main driver of the Group’s revenues in the coming years.
