Mario Matteo Busso graduated in Economics and Business from the LUISS Guido Carli university in Rome and took a Master's degree in Business Administration.
He is a chartered accountant and registered auditor.

Career:

He has acquired significant experience in auditing the accounts of banks, insurances, financial companies, and Italian and international listed companies, having been Partner of leading audit firms for over twenty years (Arthur Andersen from 1988 to 2003 and Deloitte from 2003 to 2011).

He has held a variety of management and supervisory positions in public interest entities and in listed companies or companies subject to supervision by competent authorities, and has acquired significant experience in corporate governance issues in these roles: Director of FCA Bank (from 2014 to 2016); Chairman of Statutory Audit Committee of SAIPEM (from 2011 to 2019) and of Ersel Sim (from 2012 and 2017); Chairman of the Board of Auditors of IOR (from 2014 to 2018); Standing Auditor of Banco di Credito di Azzoaglio (from 2012 to 2014), of Fondamenta SGR (from 2012 to 2014) and of Permicro (from 2009 to 2017); and Chairman and Standing Auditor of the Board of Auditors of Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo (from 2016 to 2023).

He has been Chairman of the Statutory Audit Committee and the supervisory body of Mediobanca since 2023.
